My poor little head in Tahoe.

"And all I wanna do all day is spend it in bed But that's bad for the body and even worse for my head"

-Druk again, Reel big fish.

Not really, this time it was the opposite: I had to stay in bed, even if it wasn't what I wanted and it was good for me, at least for my head. Concussion. To tell you the whole story: I was in Tahoe with my exchange group. To be honest, I don't really enjoy them, to be political correct: "the most of them just aren't my type and we have very different views on things," but some of them are just real asses.

My lovely exchange group.

Though, we usually have kind of fun and I was kind of excited while leaving in a so crowded car that you barely can sit properly. After a four hour drive we finally reached the cabin where we were staying. It was a very nice cabin with real stuffed animal heads on the walls, American flags and snow shoes. In the middle of the room they had a fireplace with benches build into the floor.

I was sick, sore throat and with fewer which didn't really made me want to ski from the beginning but when I got right size skies and poles, a flag with my nationality on my chin (just as all the other kids) and started skiing, I actually enjoyed it. I'm usually not an aggressive skier and due to my sickness and the fact that I hadn't skied for two years made me take it extra easy. On Thursday I skied for a while and after going left side after the big lift a couple of times I went right side instead this time. I had done it before but by some reason I end up on a place I surely haven't been before: a black diamond, real steep with moguls. Oh no. But I had to get down so I started go really slowly. A little bit forward, turn. A little bit forward turn. Turtle speed. Anyway. I fall and goes downhill head first. Ice and moguls, no helmut. Left my beanie and one of my poles on the top of the hill. I remember when I hit my head and I thought: "aotch, that was it then, two month at the hospital." I landed at the bottom of the hill, right under the lift summit six. People from above me screamed "are you OK???" "Yes," I said I and started to climb up the hill for my beanie and pole. I didn't have to climb the whole slope because a woman came a couple of minutes after me and grabbed my stuff. She also asked if I was ok and I was pretty sure, right then, that I had fall a really bad fall but miraculous not hurt an inch of my body. Even though it was about 11 o'clock in the morning I only skied two more skies that day and the rest of the time I sat chatting with Maluh that had injured her arm the day before.

Peter from Thailand infront of the skiiresort.

I still believed I was OK until saturday when my head started hurting after using the computer and watching TV and I slept the whole sunday. On monday I want to the hospitale emergency and a doctor told me that I had a concussion.

This is what I have done the last two weeks:

  • Sleeping. Normally I sleep 6-7 hours/night. I slept at least 10!
  • Having headache. When I'm doing the most stuff: Tv, computer, reading , etc.
  • Being a Vampire. All curtains down, not a step outside without my sunglasses. I was extremelylightsencetive, but got almost blind in darkness.
  • Listening to five books on tape.
  • Being bored. Ugh!!
Now I'm back in school again. Have a bunch of headache when I come home but it's worth it!
